About the Student Senate

For over thirty years, the Student Senate has been striving to serve the student body and university community. Senate members hope that every Ship student feels like an integral part of this organization of and for students.

Every undergraduate student is a member of the Student Association (SA) and therefore is entitled to all of its rights, privileges and services.

Student Senate is comprised of four elected representatives (Senators) from each class as well as four executive officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer). However, all students can be involved by joining any of the Student Senate committees or running for an office.

Each Senate Officer has five office hours they complete each week and each Senator performs one hour each week. During these office hours they are available for input and discussion from the student body.
